OUTRAGE!!

There is nothing that makes my blood boil faster that an outside Board member lying about my husband, saying that the reason why she kicked him out of the Board meeting was because he was shouting at her, yelling and being belligerent. These people are corrupt to the bone! This lie was revealed to me by an advocate working on our behalf.

The Office Co-ordinator also fed the 'expert', who inspected the leaky basement, misinformation about the history of the unit. The previous member had not lived in the unit for 6 years, they had lived in the unit for approx. 18 months. Then the unit sat empty for at least 6 months. The inspector's words:

We understand the previous occupants of Townhouse no. __, resident for six years, had not experienced water penetration into the basement. Nevertheless, Mrs. XX (me) wrote in her email to CMHC that there is active water leakage, potential for electrocution, mould growth, etc.

That is akin to saying before the BP well explosion in the Gulf, there was no oil leak. No kidding. Like maybe it happened after the explosion?

The inspector completely ignored the photos I sent him. Instead he photographed bubbling paint showing efflorescence underneath and exclaimed that it was dry. Of course the white powdery stuff is dry. Peel away the paint inside the rim of the efflorescence and you'd see and feel the wet surface.

The report stated that the sump pump water level was quite low in light of the fact that it had been a dry summer. Then they rushed back into the unit after a thunderstorm which ended the heat wave and lo and behold the water in the sump was a bit higher. AND the unit hadn't leaked. WOW!

The report skirted around issues quite nicely to give the co-op what they wanted to hear. Perhaps an honest report would have been better - one which would have examined the weeping tile system around the unit. Weeping tile drainage systems get plugged. In that case most water wouldn't reach the sump pump, it would come up through the floor slab.

This is a malicious, disgusting and vile co-op.
