We're being TOWED, ... er ... MOWED - maybe!
The play park will be constructed from Tuesday, July 16th, through to Saturday, when there will be a ceremony celebrating same.
In this vein, members received a rather rude notice, all in capital letters, that parking on both sides of the sliver of the play park will NOT be permitted. It goes on to say:
PARKING IN NO PARKING AREAS OR VACANT UNITS WILL NOT BE TOLERATED AND YOU WILL BE TOWED.
MEMBERS WHO HAVE PAID PARKING WILL BE ASSIGNED A TEMPORARY SPACE THROUGH THE OFFICE. (THIS COULD INCLUDE A VACANT UNIT ASSIGNED BY THE OFFICE).
THANK YOU FOR YOUR CO-OPERATION WHILE WE COMPLETE THIS VERY IMPORTANT PROJECT.
YOURS IN CO-OPERATION,
MANAGEMENT
This notice is rather incomplete. It's missing one sentence:
YOU WILL PARTICIPATE, DONATE & ENJOY YOURSELVES!
Two dead trees will have to be removed from this sliver of land (in between two rows of parked cars) to allow for the construction. This is in contrast to all the dead trees which will be left standing around the co-op. Strategic common areas will be mowed once again for public relation purposes - other areas will be left unkempt.
And that is the way it is.
Dead Tree - Unmowed Grass - Common Area
Weeds - Common Area
Discarded Old Slide in Common Area for Past 10 Months

You have my condolences over the noise etc you'll be forced to endure.
ReplyDeleteWe also know that the co-op will make sure that there's plenty of photo-ops for local media, CHF/Agency/CHASEO hangers-on etc. all spreading the gospel about what a great project it is. Never mind that resources could have been put to better use to sole existing problems as you describe.
Oh well, nothing to see behind the curtain.
Let's hope that what you fear about the playground's location and proximity of cars vs. children doesn't come true. Co-op won't be so keen to have media presence around then, would they?
