The Card Shop
Hi! I’m looking for part-time work
Are you hiring?
. . . Well — E-r-r . . .
Sensing some tension in her voice
I inquired - Older women are OK, right?
Well, to be PERFECTLY honest with you
I’ve had LOTS of problems with Older Women
OH - I replied, searching for my words
— I still have two children at home
AND I’m an artist too!
Like I said
I’ve had LOTS of problems with Older Women
They WON’T listen to me because
I’m YOUNGER than them
OBVIOUSLY, I must be good at what I do
Or I wouldn’t be the — ♥Manager♥
OH - I muttered, shrinking into myself
I wonder how I could be a better Senior?
Later, I had a revelation
Can you guess what it was?

What to do about the 'seniors' question? Think of jobs they can do around the co-op? Create a list of community resources for seniors? Develop a philosophy to integrate seniors into their co-op's activities? Allow seniors to stay in their homes? These are issues being discussed and ratified by delegates attending CHF's Annual Meetings.
Reality Check: CHF is doing nothing to help seniors age in place in our co-op, or to transition with dignity to a unit which better meets their needs. How disgraceful!
