Good Governance?

Our co-op is aging and it's not aging gracefully. Our Capital Reserves are depleted and I'm sure if this is happening to our co-op, other co-ops are also undergoing the same stresses. Volunteers generally do not possess the expertise necessary to deal with the enormous responsibility of addressing co-ops' physical restructuring and financial sustainability. Inevitably, co-ops evolve and the lack of volunteerism leads us towards utilizing another model, Property Management. But getting the right model of Property Management is tricky.

Office Co-ordinators reinvented themselves into Property Managers some time ago, receiving higher compensation, no doubt. Sometimes these 'Property Managers' have strong ties to the co-op sector - insiders if you will. This is too cozy for my liking.
However, the co-op sector has now adopted a new integrated management style. It's called 'Good Governance'. Will our Office Co-ordinators, turned Property Managers, now be called 'Governors'? And if so, will it be Good?
